Taiqing Palace
Taiqing Palace (Taiqing gong), the largest, oldest and most impressive of the temples in Laoshan, lies to the southeast of the mountain and faces the sea. It was built at the beginning of North Song Dynasty about 1000 years ago and underwent complete rebuilding during the Ming Dynasty, some 500 hundred years later. Another name for the temple is Taiqing Palace Taoism Temple.
Altogether, the palace houses 155 rooms and halls including the most famous Three God's Hall, Three Purities' Hall and Three Emperor's Hall. There are two very old cypresses in Sanhuang Palace, which were planted in the Han Dynasty (BC 206-AD220). Another old rare camellia in front of the Sanhuang Palace has been lived over 700 years. The tree is 8.5 meters high and width of the trunk is 1.78 meters. In winter, aroundthe Taiqing Palace, the trees are green too and different flowers are blooming too. There are also some other scenic spots around the Taiqing Palace Taoism Temple, such as the Shewnshui Spring, Longtou Yu, Stone Inscription and so on.
