No.1 Bathing Beach

No.1 Bathing Beach, also called Huiquan Bathing Beach, boasting calm and tranquil environment as well as clean water and fine sands. It stretches a length of 580 meters or so with width of about 40 meters and a 380m wide sea area from the beach to the shark-proof net. It is the best bathing beach in Qingdao

According to the historic records, in 1902, first group of tourists came to existent the 1st Bathing Beach and spent their leisure time, going swimming, playing and enjoying the sunbath. In 1903, this beautiful resort area was set up as a bathing beach, the earliest beach in Qingdao. In 1984, the No.1 Bathing Beach rebuilt it completely and expanded to meet the fast needs of tourists and the development of tourism in Qingdao.There are 52 bathing boxes totallly of two kinds. One is on the ground, the other is under the ground. The main dcor materials of the bathing boxes on the ground are made of wood. The area of the bathing boxes under the ground is about 2000 square meters. And all the bathing boxes under the ground are decorated with lighting clearstory on the roof. And there are large rest halls for swimmers with refreshments. There are service offices of the first bathing beach, showering compartment, toilet and other public facilities. The first bathing beach can hold 200,000 people to come here to swim.
