Reed Flute Cave
Situated at the foot of Guangming Hillfive kilometers northwest of the downtown of Guilinthe Reed Flute Cave fantastic fairyland full of mystery. The cave was given the name because
verdant reeds for making melodious flutes grow outside.
The cave is famous as Palace of Natural. Art. Along this 240-meter-long cave, there are myriad of stalactites and stalagmites. Illuminated by colored lighting, they present various shapes, some like lions, some like frogs and some like a crystal palace.
Each formation is endowed with a legendary or poetic name such as Crystal Palace, Dragon Pagoda, Virgin Forest, Flower and Fruit Mountain and other interesting
names. And behind each name there is romantic or fairy tales.
You will also be surprised to find more than 70 wall inscriptions from the Tang Period (618-907), which bear eloquent witness to the cave's long history.
