Chongqing zoo

Chongqing zoo is occupies an area of 45 hectares, which was established in 1955. It houses over 2000 animals in 200 species. The zoo was the most important sites for protection of rare birds and animals. Some most valuable animals like naive giant panda, lesser pandas and their offspring, golden hair monkeys and South China tigers you can see here.

And there are about 100 species of wild animals have been transported from overseas to the zoo, ranking it first in China. Thousands of animals including white rhinoceroses and kangaroos have come from 14 countries, such as Tanzania, South Africa and Argentina.

The zoo is situated in the western suburb of Chongqing with undulating green hills, wriggling ravines, and clear waters, is the largest zoological garden in Southwest-China and one of the large-size in the whole country. It also has teahouses, restaurants, snack counters, and middle-and small-sized entertainment facilities, creating a joyful and elegant touring environment. So the zoo received more than 1 million visitors every year.
